Today I completed the restoration of the Mercedes-Benz 190E that I bought as a wreck last year.
It is model 58108 – 1/10th scale EVO II AMG.
The start of the process was to strip down to the barest part and thoroughly clean each part for re-assembly.
The body shell has been touched-up with paint, and a slight crack in the front bumper has been repaired with reinforced fiberglass tape. I haven’t bought a new bodyshell/set for this, as it wasn’t in too bad shape… just needing a good wash and paint touch-up.
Apart from my beloved 959, this chassis was fun to work on and now a favourite, and I really enjoyed the resto, even after getting over my initial dislike of the abundance of primary coloured plastic!
I’ve taken quite a lot of photo’s during the resto, which is a lot, but in the end, it records the process well and will remind me of the enjoyment undertaken over the several weeks.
