Cheetah Resto Underway

Last weekend saw me get stuck into dismantling a Cheetah which proved to be quite difficult… especially with the body set, as the previous owner had a fun time with super gluing most of the parts together!

Some body parts are quite brittle, and unfortunately there have been a few breaks. Some can most likely be repaired, but some will have to be sourced.

The chassis was quite simple to break down, with no obvious breaks. All parts were then cleaned in my ultrasonic cleaner and afterwards all metal parts lightly oiled.

The driver figure is in good condition, and has been painted well… but will consider giving him a new change of clothes!

I’ve seem some custom restorations of these models, which looked fantastic… but will most likely stick to box art.
